The councilor of the San Borondón party in Yaiza, Juan Monzón, has given this Wednesday his "support" to the volunteers of the Civil Protection Group of the municipality, who last week denounced the "contempt" and "abandonment" by the councilor Javier Camacho and, in general, by the mayor Gladys Acuña and the southern Government group.

Monzón accuses them of carrying out the "dismantling" that he believes the members of the group in the south "suffer" and asks the mayor to "solve once and for all the problem caused by her councilor".

San Borondón points out that since the beginning of this legislature it has been "denouncing the intransigent attitudes and the null capacity for dialogue shown by the Government group presided over by Gladys Acuña", as well as that "systematic dismantling" of the group, which they attribute to the councilor of the area.

"The Yaiza Association was recognized until recently as one of the best on the island, both by those knowledgeable in the matter and by the mayor herself, who recognized its great work in the municipality," the formation emphasizes. They add, however, that, as of today, "we find that the vast majority of the volunteers are outside the group" and with rescue vehicles, ambulance, fire truck and other materials "locked up in the Uga warehouse" and with the City Council having to "request the presence of groups from other municipalities", in addition to "contracting the ambulance services, such as for the last Open Summer event held in the Uga tent".

"Absolute rejection" of Camacho's management

"We show our absolute rejection of the management carried out by Don Javier Camacho since he took charge of Citizen Security and Civil Protection, which seems more aimed at its total destruction than at its good management for the good of our neighbors," says San Borondón. In turn, they "remind" him that "being a municipality with areas more than 30 minutes away from the action capacity of the Insular Emergency Consortium, we are in need of an immediate response group in accidents, fires or rescues".

"Finally, we again request Mrs. Mayor Gladys Acuña to take action on the matter and solve once and for all the problem caused by her councilor, urgently convening a dialogue table with the Association, for the immediate resolution of the same", they conclude.
