The San Bartolomé City Council has secured a grant of 89,856.72 euros dedicated to promoting youth employment, funded by the Canary Employment Service (SCE) and the State Public Employment Service (SEPE), to launch a project under the First Professional Experience in Public Administrations program for the year 2025.
With this resolution, San Bartolomé becomes the only municipality in Lanzarote selected for the call, a recognition that "reaffirms the work done in employment and training by the council". This aid will allow for the promotion of new professional opportunities aimed at young people seeking to enter the labor market
The mayor, Isidro Pérez, emphasizes that "this subsidy allows us to continue generating real opportunities for our youth. We are committed to practical training that helps them make the leap into the job market and, at the same time, contributes to strengthening municipal services. Being the only municipality on the island to receive this aid demonstrates San Bartolomé's commitment to employment policies."For her part, the Councilor for Commerce and Employment, Alma González, highlights that this line of support "favors the preparation, labor insertion, and employability of various young groups in the municipality. It is a fundamental tool to accompany them at the beginning of their professional careers and to continue strengthening the quality of the public services we offer."
The project includes the hiring, in December 2025, of a technical professional in Early Childhood Education and two administrative assistants, through training contracts that will facilitate the acquisition of professional practice adapted to their qualifications. The initiative is aimed at unemployed individuals under 30 years of age, with the objective of offering them their first work experience to complement their training and improve their employability.
The San Bartolomé City Council thanks the SCE and SEPE for granting this subsidy and reaffirms its commitment to programs that promote professional development, training, and fairer access to employment for local youth.
