San Bartolomé raises the problem of aeronautical easements for the municipality with Civil Aviation and Aena

The mayor of San Bartolomé, Marcial Martín, has held a meeting in Madrid with representatives of Aena and the General Directorate of Civil Aviation to present "some problems that arise due to the presence of the airport within the municipal area, due to the aeronautical easements". The City Council considers it "essential" to correct them now that it is processing the new General Plan.

The municipal technicians, who accompanied the mayor at the meeting, explained the details of the planning and the study of aeronautical easement and shielding, "thereby providing a solution to the municipality, since the towns of Playa Honda and Zona Industrial, Güime, Montaña Blanca and San Bartolomé are affected."

Safety and development

Aeronautical easements are those restrictions that affect the development of urban planning, due to the presence of the airport, and that refer to the height of buildings, lighting and security measures to avoid interference with the control tower, among many others.

Therefore, "the main objective of the meeting was focused on seeking, in a consensual manner, the ideal solution, both to guarantee aeronautical safety, as well as the development of the industrial area. Fundamental points to be able to carry out the General Plan of San Bartolomé and priorities for the development of the municipality", according to the City Council.

At the end of the meeting, Civil Aviation pledged "to study the information presented and respond as soon as possible".
