San Bartolomé has launched a Comprehensive Advisory Service for Women in the municipality. The Mararía Social and Cultural Association for Women will be in charge of offering this service in the town of Playa Honda, at the Civic Center, by appointment.

This Thursday morning, the mayor of San Bartolomé, Alexis Tejera, the councilor for Social Welfare, María Dolores Fernández, and the president of Mararía, Nieves Rosa Hernández, accompanied by technicians Paula Padrón and Linda Sol Timaná, presented the service, which offers care to women in vulnerable situations to prevent and reduce the risk of social exclusion, through advice in the psychological, legal and labor fields for the comprehensive recovery of women, and also awareness-raising and awareness-raising actions in equality and prevention of gender violence in the municipality of San Bartolomé.

The mayor, Alexis Tejera, has shown his sensitivity to equality issues, specifying that "this advice is essential and more so after this year marked by Covid, which has aggravated the situation of many women who have been or are experiencing situations of vulnerability." He also insisted that this service is "completely free" and is offered "with complete confidentiality."
