The mayor of San Bartolomé, Marcial Martín, held a meeting last week at the Island Directorate for the State Administration in Lanzarote, with the presence of the island director, Orlando Suárez, the Security Councilor of the San Bartolomé City Council, Andrés Stinga, and the chief colonel of the Command of the Civil Guard of the province of Las Palmas, Francisco Espinosa Navas, as well as local commanders of the Civil Guard on the island, in order to coordinate efforts so that in the near future the opening of a Civil Guard information office in the town of Playa Honda will become a reality.
The Civil Guard post of San Bartolomé "has become a main post, so the number of troops has increased, important news in terms of security for the municipality," said Marcial Martín.
"In this meeting, the foundations have been laid so that Playa Honda can have a Civil Guard information office, with the City Council currently looking for a suitable place for the installation and provision of said service. If this initiative materializes, it would be an important achievement that would cover a need highly requested by the residents of Playa Honda," the mayor concluded.
