The Councilor for Human Resources of the Arrecife City Council, Eduardo Placeres, has accused CC of "making noise" with the Local Police job openings. "There is nothing to hide," the councilor has also stated, who in any case has pointed out that he has no responsibility in the process.
"What responsibilities do politicians have in a process where there is a qualifying court?", Placeres pointed out, after CC requested his appearance in plenary session to clarify the "scandal" in the job openings after the theoretical exam was repeated and "if it is true that there is a PP advisor among those selected."
"The advisors are from the entire government group, it does not have to be strictly from Human Resources. They help us all and yes, there is an advisor who applied, but he is completely within his rights. He has the same right as anyone else," he defended. "I cannot tell anyone not to apply, it is not incompatible," added Eduardo Placeres, who pointed out that "previous cases of advisors from other people who have applied are also known."
"The call for the Local Police has been since November and they come to say now that there is an advisor? And the list has also been published since November or December, with names, surnames and everything. Now what matters is making noise, because that was published months ago," continued the councilor.
In this regard, the councilor has not confirmed whether said advisor is one of the only two approved in the exam, as CC has requested clarification. In fact, early this Thursday he stated that he had not yet seen the list of those approved. "I have not been able to access the file because yesterday we were working from morning to afternoon, and we also had a General Board, an extraordinary board. I am busy all day and I am not waiting to see if the list comes out," he said.
"I don't know that they were made to sign"
Regarding the repetition of the theoretical exam, which, according to a resolution, was adopted after detecting that the number of applicants who had passed the test at first was "much lower" than the number of places offered, Eduardo Placeres has defended that it was a "decision made by the qualifying court." "I have not spoken to the court nor will I speak. If they make that decision, go ahead," he pointed out.
Likewise, Placeres has said he does not know if the applicants were made to sign about the exam "when the usual thing is that the identification of the tests is through a numbering to prevent the Court from knowing the identity of the applicants" as CC denounced. "I don't know that they were made to sign. I would have to look at it, I don't know if they have been made to sign or not. I also don't know to what extent a signature shows the name," said the councilor, in any case he indicated that "it would have to be asked to the court." "It has nothing to do with us," he added.
Regarding whether there has been any challenge, since CC stated that it had received "several complaints" from applicants, the Councilor for Human Resources has pointed out that "the only thing" he is aware of is that the bases were denounced by a police union. "There is no one else who has requested or said that they are going to denounce," he pointed out.
"I am quite calm," added the councilor, who has stated that he will appear in the plenary session and that he will give CC all the information they want. "I am going to offer them anything they want, just like any political group," he concluded.
