The Nationalist Group (CC-PNC) in the Arrecife City Council has requested the appearance of the Councilor for Human Resources, Eduardo Placeres, to explain "the scandal that has been generated in the development of the oppositions to access the Local Police force of Arrecife." Likewise, CC demands "that it be clarified if it is true that in the test, which they later decided to repeat, there were only two approved and if these were personally or professionally related to the councilor."

The nationalists, who also request the appearance of the Councilor of the Local Police, the socialist Alfredo Mendoza, affirm that they make this request "after receiving many complaints from applicants, who denounce various irregularities in the selection process" and want it to be clarified "if it is true that there is an advisor from the Popular Party among those selected in the process, if he had access to the file in the department" and if, as they have told them, "he is one of the only two approved in the exam for the Police positions that have had to be repeated this Tuesday."

Similarly, CC wants the responsible councilor to clarify if, in the drafting of the bases of these processes, relatives of those who have passed the tests today and are part of the preselected candidates participated. "We request the appearance of the councilor and a copy of all the documentation to study it and see if the suspicions that they convey to us are confirmed to act accordingly," emphasizes the nationalist spokesperson, Echedey Eugenio.

Documentation that supports the repetition of the exam

Thus, the councilors of the Nationalist Group have requested the documentation and/or reports that support the repetition of the exam of only a part of the process, "when a resolution of the Court spoke of the existence of approved without those lists being published," and fearing that it may be "the origin of numerous claims that will cost time and money to the residents of Arrecife."

"It is necessary to clarify if among the questions of the first exam there were questions that facilitated the realization of the same to who holds a position of trust in the City Council and what is the reason that, according to what they have told us, none of the questions raised by one of the members of the Court that came from outside were accepted," says Eugenio.

Identity of the applicants

For the nationalists, "it is also inconceivable that, when the usual thing is that the identification of the tests is through a numbering to prevent the Court from knowing the identity of the applicants, in Arrecife they were asked to sign on the exam."

"We want it to be explained to us why this Tuesday afternoon a code has been published with the name and ID of the candidates accompanied by the identification code, which must remain anonymous until the end of the process, and if this will not have as a consequence that the entire procedure is repeated. We want a clean and transparent process and we believe that the fairest thing is that both processes are started from the beginning with all the guarantees," said the deputy spokesperson, Jacobo Lemes.

And, the nationalists assert that "it cannot be that in Arrecife, a process that should be fair and transparent, seems the opposite, and they demand that it be clarified if there have been errors or these circumstances have other objectives."
