The spokesperson for the Nationalist Group (CC-PNC) in the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Pedro San Ginés, has invited the president, María Dolores Corujo, to take the hiring of Ignacio Calatayud to court for the incidents of the creditors' meeting, "as it is her obligation, if she believes that it has generated a serious loss to Inalsa".

San Ginés has responded in this way to the latest press release sent this Friday by the government group, which it describes as a "series of lies". In this regard, he maintains that "the hiring of Calatayud, including the incidents, was agreed by the Board of Directors of Inalsa".

“It is a false story from beginning to end, which I cannot deny at every step,” said San Ginés, who insists on his "invitation to go to court" and maintains that "it will be in court, if the president fulfills her duty, where both the judicial administrators and himself will reiterate all the explanations on this matter".

"Fundamentally, that the agreement to hire Ignacio Calatayud for everything concerning the contest, and therefore its incidents, was adopted unanimously and this is reflected in the minutes of the Board of Directors of Inalsa held on January 19, 2010", he maintains, attaching the minutes of that session. After that agreement, San Ginés himself signed a budget that covered the entire insolvency procedure, but later replaced it with another that only included the common phase, excluding the rest of the phases and the incidents. Based on this, Calatayud is now claiming another 82,000 euros from Inalsa for just one of those incidents, and the current government states that it is not clear how it was awarded. And they also denounce what has ended up increasing the sum that had been initially budgeted, and that San Ginés now claims was "just a draft".

The Council "decided who", but he "accepted" the "economic proposals"

In his statement, San Ginés insists that "it was none other than the Board of Directors who agreed that the lawyer should be in charge of 'everything related to the insolvency procedure, and therefore also the incidents related to said procedure'". However, this does not include the decision on the fees that the lawyer, with whom he has a friendship, was going to charge. “The political body could only decide who, and the undersigned accept and forward the lawyer's economic proposals. But it was the judicial administration who, as they themselves have clarified, supervised and rejected or accepted the economic conditions,” says San Ginés.

Furthermore, he insists on referring to the report of one of the insolvency administrators in particular, who has already left the insolvency proceedings, to ensure that the fees for the insolvency incidents were agreed to accrue upon maturity in costs. "If the process was lost, it had no cost for Inalsa, if it was won with costs, the payment was assumed by the party condemned in costs", he reiterates, citing the report prepared by Pedro Martín at the request of Calatayd.

"In short, if Inalsa finally had to pay the additional 82,000 euros that the lawyer is claiming, it will be a consequence of María Dolores Corujo's decisions, since it is an insolvency incident won with costs that, in any case, should have been paid by the losing company in a procedure from which Calatayud was removed by her, once he won the case, only to set up this theater," he says.

“They have institutionalized the lie. All this is nothing more than a huge smokescreen, since 21 days have already passed since the president said that she would give in 3 days, the explanations about who pays and why to a member of her government, the defector Juan Manuel Sosa, and we are still waiting,” says the nationalist councilor.
