The recently appointed president of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort (CC), has reviewed the main points he hopes to touch on during his legislature before the microphones of Radio Lanzarote - Onda Cero. In addition to the presidency of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort will be in charge of the areas of Agriculture, Saborea, Economic Promotion and Tourism. The one who was mayor of Teguise for 12 years thus assumes his move towards island politics.
As part of his government group, the nationalist Domingo Cejas will be in charge of the Water Consortium, Water Council and Transportation. Since 1995, Cejas has been part of political life where he began as a councilor in the Teguise City Council between 1995 and 2011. After that he took a leap to the first island institution as advisor to the president of the Cabildo de Lanzarote between 2012 and 2019.
As Betancort announced on the air, Marci Acuña will be in charge of the area of Social Welfare. The Coalición Canaria was already in charge of this area between 2011 and 2014, when Pedro San Ginés was president of the Cabildo. He was also mayor of Haría.
Another of the Coalición Canaria's councilorships in the Cabildo will be for Samuel Martín, who will be in charge of the portfolios of Environment, Biosphere Reserve and Geoparks. He will also exercise the Spokesperson of the government group.
