After the controversy and debate created by the treatment that the Timanfaya camel drivers gave to a calf, Óscar Noda, mayor of Yaiza, in an interview this Thursday for Onda Cero-Radio Lanzarote, has made it clear that: "You cannot stone a sector for a specific action".

Taking into account that "a specific malpractice, of a specific company, does not benefit the sector at all", he points out. Therefore, the mayor comments that "measures will be taken of course, they are already working on identifying the company and the workers who were there".

"We have given warnings", he confirms. And he recognizes that "we are seeing how to open a sanctioning file", to "condemn those images", since those forms "were not adequate", comments Noda.

We have to "meet with the specific company and let them know that these images cannot be repeated", he reveals.

"We are asking for veterinary reports" with respect to "the loads that camels can withstand", although from the sector we know that "they are very well cared for and they have always worried about the animals being as well as possible", he confirms. But it is true that "things have to be improved in terms of service and continue to condemn these attitudes", he declares.

Regarding the sanctions that are going to be imposed, "there is a significant financial fine, specifically from 3000 to 10,000 euros, our lawyers are studying these fines".
