Unidos por Yaiza (UPY) has proclaimed this Wednesday the leader of the municipalist formation and current mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda González, as candidate to revalidate the Mayoralty in the elections of next May. From the formation they point out that Noda "is endorsed by the good management carried out in Yaiza and by the support of one hundred percent of the members of his party, after the proposal of the Electoral Committee of the party that has been ratified by the Executive Committee of UPY, the highest body between congresses."

“Noda González is a responsible person, very close to the neighbors, discreet, decisive in the face of problems, with great capacity for work and with an innate talent for team building, which has translated into important achievements for his municipality, among which is the total sanitation of the administration, the important investments that have been executed, those that are being executed and those that are on their way to being executed”, they emphasize from the municipalist formation.

Óscar Noda stated before UPY members that “we want to continue governing in Yaiza to continue investing in sports, culture and infrastructures of various kinds, never before has so much been done in Yaiza in these three areas; to continue taking care of our heritage values; to continue with actions the awareness-raising task on the care of the environment and animal welfare; to further support the primary sector; to continue being an Institution that promotes accessibility, inclusion and coexistence with facts; to attend to social needs, we did it with decision and responsibility in the harsh times of the pandemic. We want to continue governing to continue pampering our elders and to continue promoting our strengths as a tourist destination and as a sports tourist destination, which is clearly favoring the local economy."

The management model of Óscar Noda

Óscar Noda González, the current mayor and candidate for the Mayoralty of Yaiza, is a computer engineer by profession, and was elected president of the Unidos por Yaiza party - with the support of all the members - at the II Extraordinary Congress of UPY held last December.

UPY points out that "in these years at the head of the Mayoralty, the effective management of the candidate has focused on improving the quality of life of the Yaiza residents, on cleaning up the municipal economy, on undertaking a series of improvements among which are the resurfacing plans in residential streets of Playa Blanca, Yaiza and other areas of the municipality;  even also on the Puerto Calero road, or building the new link road in Playa Blanca".

They also remember that "at the same time, the remodeling of the sports facilities of Yaiza and Playa Blanca has been undertaken; the playgrounds of Los Remedios, El Faro, and the one in the center of the coastal town of Playa Blanca, as well as the launch of the Parque del Atlántico project, a new lung for the coastal town that expands the sports offer and revitalizes a strategic area of this tourist site, all with municipal resources and co-financing formulas, with its own projects and with one hundred percent municipal monitoring".

"Special mention deserves the most important investment made in Yaiza and that places the municipality at the forefront of economic management, by assuming a Sports Pavilion of close to 8 million euros that is 75 percent of its execution and that will serve for the enjoyment and sports practice of numerous disciplines in the south of Lanzarote", they add.

In the context of Isla, they point out that "Yaiza also has a new highway that is destined for the economic growth of Lanzarote, the port infrastructure in Playa Blanca that allows it to be more competitive in the tourist and commercial sphere, offering a much more operational, comfortable, accessible and sustainable facility, something that Playa Blanca has been demanding for years, and for which the candidate for the Mayoralty, Óscar Noda, is now fighting to become a destination point for cruise passengers".

Finally, from UPY they state that "optimism and enthusiasm are breathed in the political project of UPY. We look to the future with hope and with the purpose of obtaining an absolute majority. The voters have the floor".
