The councilor of Nueva Canarias in the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Óscar Noda, started his round of institutional visits on August 13 with the aim that the municipalities "have a voice more" in the plenary of the highest island institution. So he has decided to help "transfer their problems and demands to the first institution of the island."

In that meeting with the municipal government, composed of three different parties, it was agreed to draft and present this motion, establishing a Cabildicio plan for Haría called Haría Plan 2023-2027.

“Our goal is to maintain a fluid and constant communication with all the mayors of the municipalities, because they will help us to know and understand better what the citizens demand, thus fulfilling, more efficiently, the task of our responsibilities as councilors”, says Óscar Noda.

For the councilors Noda and Daisy Villalba, this plan must address a series of measures that the Cabildo of Lanzarote must undertake as a matter of urgency and establishing with the local government the priorities and solutions to implement, the Haría Plan 2023-2027 contemplates:

  1. Modernize the bus transport both interurban and urban, as well as increase through the corresponding administrative actions the number of adapted taxis in the municipality.

  2. Comprehensive program of the Cabildo for the care of the palm grove of Haría, which suffers the ravages of abandonment, adverse weather and health conditions.

  3. Acquisition of public land in Órzola for parking and support the large traffic existing in the port of this town to unload the interior streets of nuisances related to traffic.

  4. To request again to the corresponding administrations the claim to declare the Port of Órzola as Port of Fishing Interest.

  5. Promote the projects, authorizations and reports necessary for the execution of sanitation of coastal areas, or the need to seal wells and pipes to prevent leaks to the sea.

  6. Create new places for an established Day Center for dependent people.

“This motion that we have presented in the registry of the Cabildo aims to give voice to a municipality that deserves more, a municipality with a government that requests solutions for its neighbors and that has entrenched problems easy to solve if there is will, so we ask for support to our initiative", Noda has sentenced.

“Haría is a municipality that contributes enormously to maintain our signs of identity, our Canarian identity, its natural landscapes and the main works of César Manrique rest in its domains. Lanzarote and this Cabildo have a historical debt with a municipality that renounced the creation of a tourist accommodation plant but that supports large amounts of travel and visits from our visitors”, Noda added.

In addition, the councilor Óscar Noda has stated that “maintaining a beautiful, cared for, attended and above all with services and welfare for its citizens Haría is what we seek with this initiative agreed with its government group to which we thank its collaboration and willingness to maintain these cooperation meetings”.

Both councilors insist on the port of Órzola, "which must play a crucial role urging a mandate from Parliament to declare it a port of maritime and commercial interest. As well as continue demanding from the Government of the Canary Islands the improvement project, recalling that by the previous regional administration was able to incorporate 200,000 € for the project.

To conclude, Villalba and Noda have pointed out how important it is to point out "the serious issue of drinking water in the north of the island, as they are having major supply problems and therefore, have requested numerous reports to the Insular Water Consortium to know the origin of these intolerable cuts." Similarly, they will request the Cabildo an express pronouncement on the request to the Ministry of Health for the 24-hour opening of the Mala Health Center, and that it has a medicalized ambulance.
