Óscar Noda declares that it is “absurd to affirm that Yaiza ‘slows down’ the expansion of the Playa Blanca health center, launching inaccuracies to confuse public opinion.” The mayor assures that “now we find out that the president of the Cabildo is also a parliamentarian for Lanzarote. He has only presented 25 initiatives, that is, 132 less than the most active deputy on the Island.” “We ask the Ministry of Health that instead of trying to disfigure Yaiza, dedicate its time to solving the waiting lists for dermatology and traumatology, among other problems in health services.”

The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, strongly rejects what he considers an "orchestrated attack" by the president of the Cabildo and parliamentarian of the Canarian Coalition (CC) for Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, and the Minister of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, Esther Monzón (CC), who this Tuesday pointed to the City Council as responsible for "slowing down" the expansion of the Playa Blanca health center "when they know perfectly well that on September 5 we sent the Ministry of Health the demonstrative report of the purposes for the transfer of the plot and the plenary agreement of free transfer adopted at the time, among other documents. Our technicians and lawyers maintain contact with the Ministry in case it is necessary to make any modification to this agreement, which will be done, as we do with other files that we process with the Government of the Canary Islands, including the transfer of land for the construction of social housing in Playa Blanca, with impeccable monitoring by both parties, recognized by President Fernando Clavijo himself, whom I exempt from this charade. We find it opportunistic and demagogic to insinuate that we are hindering the expansion of the health center when we were the ones who demanded its expansion, proposed the land and have requested the incorporation of new services such as rehabilitation.”

Óscar Noda assures that “now the name of Yaiza appears in parliament to find out that the president of the Cabildo is also a parliamentarian for Lanzarote. So far this legislature, he has only presented 25 initiatives, that is, 132 less than the most active deputy on the Island, his party colleague Cristina Calero. He is the parliamentarian from Lanzarote of all political groups with the fewest initiatives, and by far. Why doesn't Deputy Betancort register an initiative and urge the Government to build a new IES? Last August we went to Education and put on the table the transfer of 100,000 municipal square meters for the IES Playa Blanca with all the services at the foot of the plot. We need more action and less media statements.”

Regarding the Minister of Health, “we are surprised that a person of her career lends herself to this interpretation of trying to disfigure Yaiza when in Lanzarote we suffer from a lack of services such as waiting lists for the specialties of dermatology and traumatology, which demand much more attention. Since the press release from the Minister came out, we already knew that the one from parliamentarian Betancort would be released shortly, and it did not take long, so we prefer to respond to both.”
