The Minister of Health, Esther Monzón, wondered this Tuesday "what" the Yaiza City Council is waiting for to modify the plenary agreement adopted in May 2021 for the transfer of the land needed to undertake the expansion of the Playa Blanca health center.

At the request of the deputy of the Nationalist group and president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, the councilor has detailed in the plenary session of the Parliament of the Canary Islands that there is an "absolute intention" on the part of the Canarian executive to expand this health center, whose physical space "has fallen short."

She added that the idea is to incorporate radiology and rehabilitation services into this health center, but the expansion project "is conditioned by the delay in the transfer" of the land by the Yaiza City Council.

Monzón has detailed that the transfer agreement adopted by the municipal plenary in May 2021 was addressed to the Canarian Health Service, which is not possible, but it must be a transfer to the autonomous community.

And she revealed that "up to five times" the Yaiza City Council has been asked to modify that plenary agreement, specifically its wording, which "can be done in ten seconds," so she does not understand "what" the local corporation is waiting to do so.
