The Teguise City Council held the swearing-in ceremony for nine Local Police officers this Monday, a day on which four new officers begin their internships at the Canary Islands Security Academy, while another five become permanent civil servants after successfully completing their training and the required tests.

The new officers will begin their training period at the academy in the coming days, where they will receive specific instruction in the use of their service weapon, self-defense, and other essential subjects for the development of their professional careers. Subsequently, they will be permanently incorporated into the municipal staff.

For their part, the five officers who began their probationary period last year have achieved the status of permanent civil servants, thus consolidating their permanence in the corps and reinforcing its operational stability.

The mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, stressed that "security is one of the fundamental pillars of any society, and from this governing group we will continue working so that Teguise has a Local Police force that is better equipped and has the necessary resources to carry out its work effectively and with proximity".

Duque added that "these appointments are the reflection of the effort of an entire corporation to provide the municipality with more human and technical resources, guaranteeing a public service that is up to par with the growth and needs of all our towns and localities."

For his part, the Police Councilor, Ginés González, highlighted that "having trained, committed officers with a vocation for service is key to maintaining safety and order throughout the municipality." He added that "the Local Police is an essential body for coexistence and citizen protection, and that is why from the department we continue to work to offer them the resources, stability, and training they need to perform their duties with guarantees." González also stressed that "we continue to meet the objectives set at the beginning of the legislature, which is none other than to improve the Police at all levels, with more human and material resources to continue moving towards a better Teguise."

With these additions, the City Council advances its commitment to ensuring a safer municipality, with a local police force that is approachable, professional, and prepared to respond to the needs of the citizens.
