Nueva Canarias has demanded that the Tías City Council "get involved once and for all in the elimination of discharges and bad odors that mar the main tourist area of Lanzarote."

From the Local Committee of the party they echo "a recurring problem that has been happening in recent years, both with the previous government of PP and CC and with the current one of PSOE-Podemos-LAVA, without a solution having been found yet, with the damage that is done to the image of Puerto del Carmen."

"We see that the current municipal government group is still more interested in parties and stalls than in solving the real problems of the municipality, such as the one we denounce from Nueva Canarias Tías. Problems such as bad odors and fecal discharges that have been repeated in the surroundings of all the wastewater pumping stations in Puerto del Carmen, caused by a deficient sealing of the same," the formation points out.

The formation considers that "serious problems such as the one that hit the media last week, with the discharge of sewage in the Los Pocillos area, affect the quality of our destination" and affirms that while it sees "that the responsible councilor does nothing to remedy it."

"These are events that have been repeated cyclically without the City Council, Canal Gestión or the Island Water Council providing a solution." "Is that the image that our politicians are going to sell at the different fairs to which, with expenses paid by all citizens, they are going to stroll? Our municipality does not deserve to suffer from ineffective politicians, more concerned with taking trips at our expense than with solving the serious problems we have," says the NC spokesperson in Tías, Pedro Suárez.
