The island secretary of the Canarian Coalition, Migdalia Machín, has highlighted that "the surgical waiting list in Lanzarote has been reduced by 17.8% since the Ministry of Health has been in the hands of CC." CC Lanzarote values "the work carried out by the Minister of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, Esther Monzón", and the "progress that has been made in health matters on the island during the last semester of 2023." "This was one of the main data provided by Esther Monzón during a meeting held, together with her team in Lanzarote, with different organic and public positions of the party."
Among them, the island secretary of CC Lanzarote, Migdalia Machín herself, the island Organization secretary, Echedey Eugenio, the National Organization secretary and president of the Nationalist Parliamentary Group, David Toledo, the Minister of Social Welfare of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Marci Acuña, the director of the Health Area of Lanzarote, Esther Machín, or the director of the School of Health and Social Services of the Canary Islands (ESSSCAN), José Montelongo, in addition to representatives of different local committees.
Within the balance of the improvements made in Lanzarote after the electoral period and the investiture of Fernando Clavijo as president of the Canary Islands, Esther Monzón has stressed that "The Hemodynamic Cardiology Unit (launched at the end of 2023) has performed more than 200 catheterizations and that nine new ultrasound machines have been allocated to the Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital and another twelve for Primary Care."
She also highlighted "the launch of the Pediatrics Room and the Radiotherapy Oncology Unit" and has advanced that "the mobile mammography unit will reach 3,500 women attended in April."
"We are very clear about the course that Health in Lanzarote should take and very defined the strategic lines of work," said the Minister, listing among the latter, the "improvement of Mental Health and Addiction Prevention", the "promotion of Primary Care, the Argana Health Center or the reforms of the day hospital and psychiatry of the Molina Orosa and the Playa Blanca Health Center", without forgetting that one of the main objectives is to "continue reducing the surgical and specialized care waiting lists."
