The Canary Coalition Assembly in Yaiza has decided to revalidate Mateo Ramón de la Cruz as head of the General Secretariat of the Local Executive, after the unanimous vote of all the members gathered this Friday in the town of Playa Blanca.
“We are going to continue working alongside our neighbors, helping them and solving their problems from the first day to the last. It is not worth going to ask for the vote every four years in an election campaign. The Canary Coalition in Yaiza must nurture, grow and strengthen itself from the street, day by day, with effort, humility and emotion,” said the newly appointed local secretary. Likewise, after thanking all the people who have trusted him to continue the project of the nationalist formation in the southern municipality for another four years, Mateo Ramón stated: “Our objective will be to expand the nationalist family in our municipality, growing and expanding in each of the towns that make it up, because that is the only way to continue in public institutions, working for and for the citizens.”
Thus, he insisted that the bases, affiliates and supporters must continue to be the true protagonists and pillars of the project of the political party and local organization. “Working for and for the people, that is the hallmark of the origins of our party,” he said. That is why, as announced, the CC headquarters in Yaiza will remain open at least two days a week to serve residents and groups who, he assured, “will be able to count on us above flags and ideologies.”
The event was attended by the island secretary of the nationalist formation on the island, Migdalia Machín, who in her speech took stock of the serious economic situation that the entire island in general and the municipality of Yaiza, touristy par excellence, in particular is going through. “Both the state government, as well as the Canary Islands government and the Cabildo are playing with all of us, raising and lowering levels without any criteria, seriously harming our island and this municipality in particular, where many of its inhabitants are in ERTE after the closure of hotels and restaurants. And all this, without even considering the possibility of establishing a specific Economic Recovery Plan to help all these workers and businessmen out of the slump,” he said after congratulating Mateo Ramón and highlighting the great work carried out by who is one of the historical figures within the formation in Lanzarote.
Also attending were the Secretary of Organization, Echedey Eugenio, the Secretary of the Nationalist Youth of the Canary Islands (JNC), Jesús Machín Tavío, and the Secretary of the Nationalist Youth of Lanzarote (JNL), Sara Bermúdez, as well as the local secretaries of Tinajo (Luis Miguel Pérez) Tías, (Sandra Rodríguez), San Bartolomé (Eduardo Díaz), Teguise (Antonio Callero), Haría (Víctor Robayna) and the local secretary and deputy secretary of Arrecife (Orlando Umpiérrez and Jacobo Lemes). Among the public officials, the CC spokesperson in the San Bartolomé City Council, David Rocío, and that of Yaiza, Ángel Domínguez, together with the rest of the councilors of the nationalist formation in the southern Consistory. The event was also attended by the mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín Duque, the island councilors Tania Ramón, David de la Hoz and Óscar Pérez, and José Torres Stinga for the PMH.
In the direction of the Committee, Mateo Ramón will be accompanied by Emilio Machín, who will be the new Secretary of Organization, José Bruno Ramírez as Deputy Secretary of Organization, and Sixto Calero as Deputy Secretary General.
