Following the call for unity of the green, progressive and left-wing spaces of the Canary Islands a few days ago, Más Canarias invites "9 formations to participate in a round of bilateral contacts." The party, which has declared itself as "a non-aligned actor that will work in a neutral way to achieve a great confluence in the islands", invites the formations to join the round of bilateral meetings, which will conclude this Sunday, February 26. Immediately afterwards, Más Canarias intends to "invite the parties that show willingness to unite for objectives superior to the interests of each party to participate in round tables."
In the letter, Más Canarias points out that "the islands are besieged by multiple problems and threats and that in order to reverse them it is necessary to enter the institutions with force to transform the model of the Canary Islands." The formation shows concern for "the poverty indicators of the archipelago, the highest in the country, increased by the price crisis."
From Más Canarias they highlight that "the climate emergency is added to the voracity of speculators and the complicity of broad political sectors." They give as examples the "proliferation of conflicting projects, such as Dreamland, Cuna del Alma or the resort project with a golf course in an area of great biological interest in La Palma."
The general coordinator of the formation, Javier Navarro Lasso, insists that "this first round does not commit those who attend to results, but that it will make clear who intends to stop this irresponsibility and who prefer to continue in the blockade and fragmentation.”
