The current secretary of Institutional and Municipal Policy of the PSOE, Marcos Hernández, announced this Monday on Radio Lanzarote - Onda Cero his decision to run in the primaries for the Cabildo of Lanzarote. Hernández has stated that he is running "from the conviction of being able to contribute the best".
It is also speculated that the other candidate for the primaries in the Cabildo will be the former mayor of Tías and current secretary of Organization of the party in Lanzarote, José Juan Cruz Saavedra.

For her part, Cristina Duque has confirmed in this same media outlet that she will run in the socialist primaries in the Arrecife City Council. "After thinking about it a lot and talking about it with other colleagues, they have encouraged me to present myself," she stated. Duque could face the deputy mayor, José Montelongo, in these primaries, as he also seems to be a candidate in this process.
From November 3rd to the 17th, all candidacies can be submitted for both the primaries to the Cabildo and the Arrecife City Council. On Sunday, November 30th, the members will vote for those they want to be their candidates.
