Thanks to this agreement, the Cabildo and the Canarian Employment Service offer subsidies to local corporations in Lanzarote to hire unemployed workers. The positions consist of carrying out works and services of general and social interest, and in total the subsidized amount exceeds 245,171 euros. The meeting held this Monday was chaired by Manuela Armas, who was accompanied by the Minister of Employment and Social Affairs, Joaquín Caraballo, and the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Nereida Pérez.
The projects, approved by the director of the Canarian Employment Service, refer, for example, to collaborating with the social agents of the island, to promote projects aimed at the native and immigrant population ("Edó-Eki Program") or to recover the agricultural landscape, encouraging farmers in organic crops ("Obtaining compost as a biological nutrient for the promotion of organic agriculture on the island"). In this same line there is a third project, aimed at recovering the agricultural landscape, which informs the farmer about the richness of fruit species adapted to the island ("Recovery of fruit species on the island of Lanzarote").
Another project is aimed at the creation of the Insular Observatory of Social Services and to carry out the insular planning of this matter ("Support service to the specialized planning service for the diagnosis of insular social services, and support to the areas of the Ministry of Social Services, Health, Employment and Immigration). And finally, in order to promote the practice of traditional sports among young people, the project "Training Cycle of Native Games. Canarian Wrestling and Canarian Ball" has been created.
