Manuel Fajardo Palarea will preside over the Senate Justice Committee that will be formed this Wednesday. The Lanzarote native will be the only Canary Island senator to preside over a committee in the Upper House. In addition, Fajardo Palarea will be a member of three other committees, the Interior Committee, the Equality Committee and the Joint Congress-Senate National Security Committee.
Manuel Fajardo, a lawyer by profession, has been the island secretary of the PSOE, councilor and vice president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, regional parliamentarian from 2007 to 2015, spokesperson for the Socialist Group in the VIII legislature and Deputy Minister of Justice of the Government of the Canary Islands.
