The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, has shown her "prudent satisfaction" with the evolution of the pandemic data on the island once it has gone from 163.5 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants to 53.8 in the last seven days, thus confirming the downward trend of the accumulated incidence, something that the data had already pointed out over the last few days.
"These data confirm the suitability of the restrictions and invite us not to relax so as not to throw away what has already been achieved," said the president, who recalled that the restrictions will remain in force until September 26 and expressed her confidence that the measures will not be extended by October given the positive evolution of contagion data.
The president recalled that the measures currently in force mean that events of more than 10 people will not be authorized. Likewise, hospitality establishments, restaurants, terraces, bars and beach restaurants will continue to close at 00:00 hours at the latest, and may not admit new customers after 23:00 hours. Likewise, non-occupational day centers will remain closed.
"The next few days are going to be fundamental and will allow us to be in figures that allow us to return prudently to normality and gradually recover economic activity," Corujo concluded.
