The Cabildo of Lanzarote will approve this Monday in the Island Governing Council, the definitive list of allocation of transport aid for students from Lanzarote and La Graciosa. These aids, aimed at those who are studying higher education, higher-level training cycles (CFGS), university degrees and official master's degrees outside both islands, reach a total amount of 511,600 euros.

They benefit 1,279 students, who will receive an individual aid of 400 euros. This line of support has been resumed by the Institution after not having been convened during the past term.

The president of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, has underlined the Institution's commitment to the training and future of the island's young people. “With the definitive approval of these aids, we reaffirm our effort to guarantee that no student sees their right to be trained limited by economic or geographical barriers”, he remarked.

For her part, the Minister of Education, Ascensión Toledo, positively valued the definitive resolution of the aid: “We know the effort that many families make so that their children can train outside the islands. These aids represent an important relief for those homes and demonstrate that the Cabildo is on the side of our students, supporting them on their path to academic and professional success”.

The definitive list has been drawn up after responding to the allegations presented within the established period after the provisional publication last December.

Students will be able to consult the definitive list through the electronic headquarters of the Cabildo and on the website of Scholarship/Aid management.
