The Governing Council of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has definitively awarded the **subsidies intended for non-profit organizations** for the development of social intervention projects, thus culminating the administrative procedure after the increase in economic allocation approved last December. The resolution, approved by the Governing Council, **distributes 1,274,543.86 euros among 47 social initiatives** in Lanzarote and La Graciosa

These grants, awarded on a competitive basis, allow for the execution of projects focused on social inclusion, care for vulnerable groups, disability, support for families, community intervention, and socio-health care, consolidating the work carried out by the Third Sector on the island.

The president of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, highlighted that this resolution comes after the budgetary increase approved by the island Institution, which raised the call to 1.27 million euros to attend to a greater number of social initiatives presented by the entities

“With this award, a social investment is materialized that allows sustaining a network of direct intervention on the island, developed by entities that work on the ground with the people and families who need it most,” recalled Betancort.

For his part, the Minister of Social Welfare and Inclusion, Marci Acuña, pointed out that "the definitive award allows for the activation of projects that respond to concrete social needs, with direct actions in areas such as socio-sanitary care, family support, inclusion, and support for people in situations of vulnerability".

The resolution contemplates the advance payment of subsidies and the waiver of guarantees to facilitate the immediate start of projects. The definitive list includes 47 estimated applications, after the technical evaluation process, provisional resolution, and analysis of allegations in accordance with the call for applications.
