Residents of La Graciosa have announced that they will join the demonstrations called for this April 20th throughout the Archipelago under the slogan Canary Islands has a limit. The island has been the eighth in the Canary Islands to join the claim, after the incorporation last week of La Gomera.

The residents of La Graciosa have stated that "the Canary Islands deserve better management of protected natural areas." In addition, they have indicated that the eighth island has been working on the planning "for about twenty-five years."

Regarding the Rector Plan for Use and Management of the Chinijo Archipelago Natural Park, which includes Famara, La Graciosa and the islets of Alegranza, Montaña Clara and the two Roques, they have resolved that they presented allegations that, "for the most part," were not taken into account. "In 2006, a PRUG was approved that did not recognize the reality of Graciosa," they denounced.

Meanwhile, in 2011 they presented a diagnosis that said that "it was necessary to modify the PRUG, because tourist activity was not recognized, and it was not modified." After that, in 2016 the justice ended up annulling the PRUG because the Natural Spaces Management Plan was missing. "In 2023 the PORN was approved, and since then we have been without PRUG and without an organ," they concluded.
