The route of the demonstration Lanzarote has a limit, which is scheduled for this Saturday, April 20 at 12:00 noon in Arrecife, will start from the Music Kiosk in José Ramírez Cerdá Park and end at the Lanzarote Council.

The demonstration will have to be diverted in a small section due to the works being carried out in the Playa del Reducto area.

The mobilization will begin at the Music Kiosk, located in José Ramírez Cerdá Park, and will end at the Lanzarote Council, where a manifesto will be read.

From the Music Kiosk, the march will go along Mancomunidad Avenue to the Lancelot Hotel. To avoid the works, from that corner it will go up Vals de la Torre street to Manolo Millares street, continue along Manolo Millares street to Guenia street, go down Guenia street to rejoin Fred Olsen Avenue and continue towards the Council.

The organizers of the demonstration, "anonymous citizens who do not represent any group or political party," encourage all those who wish to do so "to join this historic protest and create banners with protest messages against mass tourism and its effects on the territory and the quality of life of residents."

This vindictive movement is included in the protests called for the same day in the Canary Islands and in European cities such as Granada, Barcelona, Madrid, Málaga and Berlin under the slogan Canarias tiene un límite demanding a change of tourism model in the archipelago.

The organizers, who recall that they are part of a peaceful mobilization that is committed to sustainability in the management model of natural and social resources, also appreciate the participation of associations and political parties, but ask them not to lead the demonstration.

"The demonstration must be led by citizens, by all those anonymous people who are concerned about the effect of mass tourism on the saturation of resources, housing, health, protected natural spaces, precarious wages and coexistence with the environment," they say.

"Therefore, we ask the associations to be placed in the middle of the mobilization and the politicians to be placed at the end. This movement is a demonstration that we are at the limit and that we need a decisive change. Lanzarote is exhausted. Lanzarote can no longer be sustained," they conclude.
