José Manuel Melián López was elected last week as president of the Nationalist Youth of the Canarian Coalition (CC) in Yaiza. The recently appointed president of the Nationalist Youth of CC in Yaiza states that he is "very excited and eager to work to get the municipality moving forward, to get the young people of all its towns moving forward, to do things that help us all to live collectively".
Melián highlighted the need to "look to the future" but emphasized the lack of "alternatives" throughout the municipality of Yaiza, "where young people have real difficulties in accessing activities, infrastructures and sports projects, cultural and leisure activities, because they simply do not exist".
In Melián López's opinion, "it is regrettable that any municipality lacks the minimum infrastructures and services aimed at young people, but it is even more reprehensible that in this case we are talking about a municipality with strong tourist, construction and economic growth such as Yaiza, which does not even have sports halls nor are cultural activities, workshops or leisure events such as concerts carried out on a regular basis".
