The mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, wanted to publicly thank the meeting last Monday in the Cabildo of Lanzarote with the president Oswaldo Betancort and the councilor of the Water Consortium, Domingo Cejas for the problems in the water supply suffered by the island.
Machín has been "surprised by the investments that need to be made in the issue of water in Lanzarote and the money that has to be returned for not making the investments in a timely manner when they should have been made.”
As mayor of Tinajo, “I demanded and claimed all the pending issues in Tinajo.” Jesús Machín confirms that he raised “to those present that urgent solutions must be found, that even credits should be used to solve these situations and, in addition, Tinajo committed to put the part that corresponds to it as a member of the Consortium to finance these investments. I appreciate the concern for the municipality as well as the good predisposition to the requests of Tinajo from both the president, the councilor and the manager of the Consortium.”
All the mayors intervened in the meeting and, continues the mayor of Tinajo, “I was able to speak on several occasions, making more than clear my concern for irrigation water and the supply water for the residents of Tinajo and I was informed that the works of the bypass of Montaña Mina, which will serve so that the municipality of Tinajo has more water, will be finished in less than thirty days".
In addition, the works of the Tinache deposit with the pipelines are already planned and ready to begin, after Los Dolores. Likewise, Jesús Machín has explained in a press release that during the meeting of the Water Consortium he has once again raised "the issue of the irrigation project that we will continue studying in the coming days”.
“After the meeting”, continues Machín, “I had the opportunity, in the president's office, to raise numerous issues that the municipality of Tinajo needs, I am enormously grateful to the president for the courtesy of attending to the needs of the municipality of Tinajo”, concluded the mayor.
