The general secretary of Coalición Canaria (CC), Fernando Clavijo, stated this Thursday that the investigation by the Central Operative Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard of the former president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Pedro San Ginés (CC), "does not have any kind of attention because it has nothing new."
Fernando Clavijo, in statements to the media, insisted that there is no "new, different or strange" circumstance in relation to this matter when asked by journalists about San Ginés, who is pointed out as a possible accomplice in the appropriation of 850,000 euros from Inalsa and the Insular Water Consortium.
The general secretary of CC referred to the statement sent by San Ginés himself, in which he maintains that the UCO is investigating him for two issues "that are not new", which the current president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Dolores Corujo (PSOE), has denounced in "political terms, and that Podemos has brought to the attention of the Prosecutor's Office."
Clavijo indicated "that the former president is collaborating with justice and has limited himself to the statement in which San Ginés gives the explanations."
The UCO searched the former president's home last Monday in a case in which crimes of bribery, embezzlement and prevarication, among others, are being investigated.
