Verdes Equo is starting to work towards the next elections, and representatives of the party in the Canary Islands and in the Federal Executive Coordinator have visited Lanzarote this week, among other things to meet with its two councilors in Arrecife, Esther Gómez and Leandro Delgado. In a statement, Equo explains that it has established a "working table" with both councilors, "to share the roadmap for the coming months."
It should be remembered that Esther Gómez and Leandro Delgado obtained their seats through the Lanzarote en Pie - Sí Podemos brand, which was a coalition between the purple formation and Equo. However, Podemos is not currently represented in the municipal group of Arrecife, since the councilor who ran for that party, Leticia Padilla, has left the formation, although she maintains her seat and her presence in the group, against what was requested by both Podemos and Esther Gómez herself from Equo.
"It is to be expected that contacts will continue and increase over the coming months," says Equo, after reporting on that meeting with its two councilors and also with representatives of Podemos and the PSOE in the Cabildo, as well as with groups on the island. Looking ahead to the next elections, the ecologist formation must decide whether to go it alone this time, whether to reissue the pact with Podemos, or whether to seek another alliance.

In this regard, the party points out that one of the objectives of these meetings was to "convey the need to create a serious, broad political space with innovative political proposals in line with the real needs of the population, as well as the protection of our diversity."
In addition, it states that this has been "a first contact," with the aim of starting a "green route." Regarding the meetings with the government group of the Cabildo - on the one hand with councilors from the PSOE and on the other with those from Podemos - and with groups on the island, it states that they were "relaxed," and that they took the opportunity "to learn firsthand what the realities of the island are, as well as some municipalities such as San Bartolomé, Tías, and Teguise."
