Eight new officers join the Local Police of Tías

The agents have already finished their training in the academy and will join the municipality next Monday

The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz Saavedra, and the official chief of the Local Police of Tías, José Antonio Hernández García, traveled yesterday to Tenerife to attend the graduation of eight new agents of the Local Police of Tías, who have completed their training at the academy and will join the municipality next Monday, April 27.

The closing ceremony of the IV Training Course for access to the Canarian Police was held in the northern municipality of El Sauzal with the presence of representatives from the 21 city councils that have adhered to the agreement between the Government of the Canary Islands and the Canarian Federation of Municipalities (Fecam) to carry out unified calls and joint training.

In this promotion, the agents have completed a total of 990 teaching hours distributed in a total of nine training modules distributed in 44 didactic units. The eight new recruits will join the municipality of Tías next April 27, 2026, to complete a 110-hour training plan in the workplace as trainee civil servants.

José Juan Cruz congratulated the agents and stated that this incorporation represents “an important reinforcement for the security of the municipality and allows us to continue advancing in our objective of offering a closer and more effective service to the citizenry”.

The mayor also wanted to highlight the joint training model, pointing out that “this type of initiatives coordinated between administrations contribute to improving the training of agents and to optimizing public resources”.
