Ciudadanos (Cs) has denounced this Monday "the lack of commitment of the Tías City Council to solve the shortage of parking spaces in Puerto del Carmen."
The formation demands that the municipal government "execute the pending works, such as those of the La Perla site, which does not seem to be progressing", as well as "seek alternative options, since there are other sites along the avenue that could be used as parking, as long as an agreement is reached between the city council and the owners."
Likewise, Ciudadanos considers that "if in order to minimize the use of private vehicles it was necessary to park on the outskirts of the town, it would be convenient to launch a shuttle service." Something that they believe would be "an excellent solution to bring visitors to Puerto del Carmen", in addition to "could lead to the creation of new jobs."
For all these reasons, the formation has requested the officials of the Tías City Council to "seek solutions to this chronic problem of Puerto del Carmen, which does not seem to have been mitigated by the absence of tourists in times of pandemic, since even the residents continue to suffer from the lack of parking".
