The Teguise City Council has informed citizens that normality has been restored to municipal infrastructures such as roads, parking lots, and beaches after the floods last Saturday. The council has defended that these works have been done in 72 hours and that "in a more than reasonable time, it has been possible to recover thanks to the immediate formation of action brigades with operational capacity." Meanwhile, in the municipality, three hotels remain closed.

These brigades have been composed of personnel from cleaning, roads and works, parks and gardens, maintenance, personnel from the Civil Protection Consortium, and police, as well as companies and individuals, who have helped in the tasks. "All of them demonstrating a commitment to recovery that has gone beyond their normal work responsibilities," the council highlighted in a statement.

"The concern of tour operators and clients of Costa Teguise dissipates with the restored normality," it continued. This is the conclusion of the Councilor for Tourism, Rita Hernández, after verifying how the coordinated collaboration of human and material resources put in place has been able to return the tourist destination Costa Teguise to a normal situation.

"Normality and operation." This has been the idea that the Tourism Area has conveyed to the numerous contacts that tour operators and tourists have made when they have inquired about the general situation, access to the area, and the state of the establishments and beaches. "Normality and full operation of facilities and services," has been the response.

As stated by the mayor, Olivia Duque, "we must thank the residents of the municipality for their patience, understanding, and collaboration during these difficult days." Likewise, the first mayor reminds that affected people can contact the Security and Emergency Consortium telephone, 928 804 004, fill out the form on the web or send an email to the address [email protected].

The storm last Saturday has provided very mediatic images that have been quickly reproduced in all countries that send tourism to Lanzarote, causing concern among tourist intermediaries and individuals who had planned to visit the destination during these days.

Costa Teguise "is operational and at full capacity" to provide the tourist client with an extraordinary vacation experience as always. At the same time, the Council regrets the damage caused to the complexes that are currently in the process of being cleaned.
