Contigo Teguise + Unido has announced through a press release that it is determined to "improve the situation" of the companion animals of the inhabitants of Teguise and are committed after the elections to urge "higher authorities" for a subject that "we consider logical: the creation of a social security system for dogs, cats and other pets", they make clear.

"These animals are one more of the family according to the new law processed by the central government but they are afraid to go further", the party recognizes. "They fill their mouths to disguise themselves as animalists but then disappoint everyone".

"They want to charge for these family members for cards and courses and that's it", they add. Contigo Teguise considers that "as they are sentient beings, it is necessary to promote that the dog, the cat or the family pet is one more in the family for real" and that "it enters the Social Security, creating public veterinarians". Since, nowadays, "they are only private veterinarians for whom the State neither contributes nor subsidizes anything", he argues.

"Any family that has animals at home and these have a serious health problem, subsequently becomes something serious economically for the family home" and, in addition, "they may be in the situation of not being able to face the expenses because of how expensive they can be in serious cases", they comment. That is why, "we propose to create a public health system for pets that covers all those expenses", he argues.

"When Contigo Teguise reaches the government of Teguise we will urge higher entities to support this initiative" and "we will ask for the support of all the political groups on the island", they affirm. "Pets will have an important place in our government, as it is our intention to also create the first beaches for dogs in the municipality, for example, in the Perejil area in Famara and in Costa Teguise", they confess.

"We will ask for the support of all the political groups on the island"

In addition, "we will promote the creation of new parks for pets in the municipality, vaccination and identification plans as well as the control of cat colonies", they conclude.
