Comisiones Obreras concentrated this Tuesday in Lanzarote to support an employee, who was the legal representative of the workers of the Barceló hotel, who was fired from the hotel establishment in Playa Blanca. According to the union, "the worker R.C., has been fired arbitrarily, in what we consider a direct attack on labor rights and the dignity of the working class."

In this sense, CCOO has highlighted that "R.C. has been and is a committed worker, a professional who has fulfilled his work, with responsibility and dedication, but instead of recognizing his effort, the company has opted for the path of repression and abuse".

In addition, the union insists that "this dismissal not only affects this worker in particular, but it is a message for all of us because they are trying to weaken us, but they will not succeed because if they touch one, they touch us all."

From Comisiones Obreras Lanzarote they demand "the immediate reinstatement and absolute respect for the labor rights of the worker and the works council" because they assure that they will not allow the dignity of the workers to be trampled on, nor that dismissal be used as a tool of repression".

Therefore, the union has announced that on May 1 they will appear at the Barceló Hotel in Playa Blanca to demand his reinstatement and call on the entire staff and society in general to join this fight.
