The Canary Coalition Group in the San Bartolomé City Council offers its hand to the municipal government to work, jointly, on correcting errors and improving the document of a General Plan that, after two and a half years of mandate, "was taken to plenary as it was in the previous mandate, that is, with all the favorable reports, pending only to resolve several aspects of the report of the State Air Safety Agency (AESA)."

“The document taken to plenary continues with the same errors and injustices that were pending resolution in 2019, so precious time has been lost, for not wanting to meet with us”, laments the spokesperson for the nationalists, David Rocío.

However, according to the councilor, "it is not time to look back but to continue working for the municipality as it has been done to date."

“We have given our approval because it is a vital document, which has errors, that is why it must be resolved as soon as possible”, Rocío emphasizes, who adds that a meeting has already been requested with internal and external technicians as well as with the drafting team and that, in addition, “the CC councilors will be on the street from the end of January, with meetings with our neighbors to show them the plan, advise them on the processing of allegations and even process them in duplicate if they so wish”.

In this way, the party maintains that "all possible alternatives" will be considered so that the resulting document is the fairest and best possible, and the Lanzarote parliamentarians of the Canarian Nationalist Group will be urged to pressure the Government of the Canary Islands "for its initial approval."

“From the initial approval, the period for allegations opens and the possibility of correcting issues related, for example, to the industrial area, if we want to be leaders again, if we want brands to bet on Playa Honda again”, Rocío points out, adding that “we must bid for part of its development to be municipal. If we do not condition the units in their development, we will lose investment and therefore employment.”

Finally, the CC spokesperson highlights that although the approved document corrects the current situation of the municipality, which they maintain is positive, it forgets that growth "is conditioned by the development of land in the interior." “This is something that has not been carried out in 30 years; if we leave it the same, it will not be developed in the next 30 either”, he states.
