Coalición Canaria (CC) San Bartolomé denounces the "lamentable image" that some schools in the municipality offer before the start of the new school year and denies the statements of the mayor, Isidro Pérez, in which he assured that the City Council had executed some thirty actions in the educational centers during the summer.

In this sense, the spokesman for the Canarian nationalist formation, David Rocío, points out that “after carrying out a round of visits to see the state of the schools in the municipality of San Bartolomé, we have verified that the reality is very different from the one that Isidro Pérez has wanted to misleadingly convey to the citizens, because the reality is that the supposed improvements he spoke of are conspicuous by their absence.”

David Rocío denounces that “the few actions that are actually being carried out have arrived badly and late, to the point that in many centers the meetings prior to the start of the course are being
carried out in the middle of the works and in hygiene conditions that are not adequate despite the efforts of the cleaners.”

"Uninhabitable" classrooms

“In addition, many of the actions proclaimed by the mayor are not being carried out, which has caused the schools to be in disarray, with blinds pending installation and classrooms uninhabitable due to the sun and heat, with fences in deplorable conditions and many other deficiencies without correcting, which is a contempt for students, families and teachers before the imminent start of the course”, he adds.

On the other hand, David Rocío urges the Ministry of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands “to complete as soon as possible the classroom for students from 2 to 3 years old at the Playa Honda school and to provide security and shade to the outside area in order to that the reception of the facilities and the effective use of this fundamental educational resource for the families of the municipality can be carried out”.
