Coalición Canaria (CC) San Bartolomé has submitted a motion to the ordinary plenary session to be held by the City Council this Wednesday the 29th in which it requests the realization of a rat extermination campaign in the municipality, prioritizing the town of Playa Honda.
According to the spokesman of the nationalist formation, David Rocío, "during the last months we have received numerous complaints alerting about the significant presence of these rodents in streets and plots of San Bartolomé, especially Playa Honda, which in addition to affecting the quality of life of neighbors is a public health problem."
In this context, CC asks the government group to promote a citizen awareness campaign that promotes good practices in waste management and cleaning of private spaces, collaborate with owners of plots and buildings in disuse providing resources for cleaning and establish a system for evaluating the effectiveness of the measures implemented.
On the other hand, the nationalist formation has also requested through a motion that the City Council transfer municipal land to the Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa so that the Island Corporation proceeds to expand the soccer field of San Bartolomé, whose facilities "are currently insufficient to meet the needs of CF San Bartolomé, which has a base of 350 boys and girls, and the demand of the citizens."
"The City Council must guarantee that the facilities of the soccer field remain open to public use when they are not being used by the San Bartolomé Soccer Club, thus promoting equitable access to municipal sports resources," adds the nationalist spokesman.
In addition, CC has submitted a third motion to be debated in the plenary session this Wednesday in which it requests that the socialist government group guarantee the presence in the plenary sessions of a sign language interpreter to guarantee the accessibility of deaf people to the debates, and that it complies with the agreement adopted by the plenary session itself to record and publish the plenary sessions on the City Council's website.
