The spokesman for the Canarian Coalition in the Tías City Council, Amado Vizcaíno, reminds the socialist mayor, José Juan Cruz, and his government group, "that the municipality is not only made up of the towns of Tías and Puerto del Carmen, but also the population centers of Conil, La Asomada, Mácher, Tegoyo and Masdache deserve a summer activities program for the little ones."
And, according to the nationalist councilor, “those responsible for the areas of Youth, Culture, Sports and Social Welfare fight to see who has the most prominence, programming activities with total lack of coordination and focusing solely and exclusively on Tías and Puerto del Carmen, ignoring the rest of the towns in the municipality.”
For Vizcaíno, this type of action, instead of benefiting, "harms citizens." "Seeing the promotional posters for the activities, the conclusion reached is that everyone does the same thing, with the aggravating factor that Culture and Social Services are paid for with taxpayer money and Youth activities are private activities that users have to pay for,” he adds.
The CC spokesperson takes the opportunity to remind the members of the government that they have had three years "to learn how to function as a group." “If instead of looking at their navels and seeing who looks better in the photo, they focused on joining efforts, they could present a proper activities program throughout the municipality and not just in Tías or Puerto del Carmen.”
In this sense, he recalls that during the previous term, in which CC was part of the government, "a project was born, now disappeared, in which an entire program of activities during the different holiday stages of the school year ensured family conciliation." “They were called active summer, active Christmas and active Holy Week and were carried out in all the towns of the municipality, on different days and without exception”, he concludes.
