The Nationalist Group (CC-PNC) deeply regrets that "the Government Group formed by the PSOE, Podemos and the defector Juan Manuel Sosa, has rejected seven of the eight resolution proposals contributed by the nationalists to the Debate on the State of the Island, approving only the one related to developing a Strategic Plan for Energy Communities 2022-2030".
“Evidently, we are glad that this government group is so aware of the need to continue advancing to reduce our carbon footprint and recognizes that it is necessary to continue on the path of changing the energy model undertaken more than a decade ago, but the opportunity to materialize other very important proposals for the present and future of the island and its inhabitants has been missed along the way”, says San Ginés.
Thus, the government group led by the socialist Mª Dolores Corujo has rejected the resolution proposal to resume the Arrecife Capital of the Biosphere Reserve project from the Biosphere Reserve area of the Cabildo itself, arguing that it did not have municipal support, despite the fact that said project was validated by her party colleague, Eva de Anta, when she was mayor of Arrecife.
On the other hand, the proposal to develop a strategic plan for agricultural irrigation in the short, medium and long term is rejected, which determines the investments to be made and addresses the search for external and own financing so that the island has once and for all a real opportunity for the development of agriculture. Their argument? The existence of an irrigation plan that, according to San Ginés, “nobody knows”.
"The proposal to resume the drafting of the main planning instruments pending approval has also been rejected, therefore ruling out the possibility of entrusting, either to a public company or through a public tender, the approval and adaptation of a new Island Planning Plan, as well as promoting the processing and approval of both the Special Plan for La Geria and the PRUG of the Chinijo Archipelago entrusted to GESPLAN", they add.
“Today we learned from Marcos Vergaz that the Island Plan has been entrusted to GESPLAN, but nobody knows about that commission”, says San Ginés, who emphasizes that what has become clear is that “this whole debate has been a new theater function on the stage par excellence of Lanzarote, for the intended display of a president who had already decided her position in advance, without any intention of collecting the constructive proposals raised by our group”.
Finally, the nationalists point out that "it is not understood otherwise, how it is possible that even the proposal for the demanded burial of the LZ-2 as it passes through Playa Honda has not been taken into account, arguing its high cost, that they have completely ignored the sanitation project for the island of La Graciosa and the commissioning of the Agrotechnological Complex of Teguise and, what is perhaps most serious, is that it has not been agreed to join the social agreement for the AFA and ADISLAN services, surprising with new proposals as crazy as the privatization was in its day, which deserve a monographic treatment by CC".
