The Lanzarote parliamentarians of the Canarian Nationalist Group, David Toledo, Oswaldo Betancort and Cristina Calero, have described the "historic" General Budgets of the Autonomous Community for 2025 and have assured that the accounts for the coming year "position the island as a leader in budgetary growth in the Canary Islands." These resources consolidate key advances in health, housing and infrastructure, reinforcing the commitment to the quality of life of the people of Lanzarote.
According to Coalición Canaria, in health matters, Lanzarote becomes "the third island with the largest budget allocation in history, thanks to an increase of one million euros promoted by Coalición Canaria to reinforce public services." Thus, "this achievement demonstrates our determination to guarantee excellent healthcare, focused on the real needs of citizens,” the deputies said.
The total investment for Lanzarote amounts to 131.4 million euros and includes projects such as the construction of public housing, with more than 18.4 million allocated for this purpose, and the duplication of the LZ-40. In addition, the fight against the water emergency receives specific measures to "guarantee supply, while public health will be strengthened with the incorporation of a surgical robot that will improve the efficiency and precision of interventions."
In the cultural field, the budgets include a significant investment for the future Auditorium of Lanzarote, an infrastructure that will enhance the island's cultural offer. They also include initiatives aimed at young people, such as the Young Mortgage program, which will facilitate access to housing by financing up to 90% of the cost.
Coalición Canaria has achieved the inclusion of essential amendments that reinforce these investments. These include 400,000 euros for the Tahíche Residence, 200,000 euros for improvement projects in the water sector, and another amount for the reform of the Brief Psychiatric Inpatient Unit and the Day Hospital.
The parliamentarians have stressed that these advances are "the result of constant work to place Lanzarote at the epicenter of the budgetary priorities" of the Government of the Canary Islands. “We are fulfilling our commitment to fight for the interests of our island, materializing proposals that improve the quality of life of all the people of Lanzarote,” concluded Toledo, Betancort and Calero.
