"The arrival this Tuesday to the coasts of Lanzarote of three more boats is just another example not only that nothing has changed, but that the situation has even worsened", says Migdalia Machín

The island secretary of the Canarian Coalition in Lanzarote, Migdalia Machín, has asked the socialist leaders in the Cabildo of Lanzarote and in the Government of the Canary Islands to "recognize once and for all that the agreement signed by Pedro Sánchez and Morocco on migration is a real deception."

"The arrival this Tuesday to the coasts of Lanzarote of three more boats is just another example not only that nothing has changed, but that the situation has even worsened," she says.

Machín has also referred to statements by the general secretary of the Canarian Coalition and senator for the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, pointing out that the Ministry of the Interior has confirmed a growth in the arrival of people of 27.3%, as of July 31, compared to the same period of the previous year.

"People continue to arrive who leave their countries in search of a better life, fleeing from famine and war, and here we do not have the necessary infrastructure to care for them with dignity," said the nationalist leader, who stresses that "we still do not see the advantages of these negotiations."

For his part, the Secretary of Organization of CC in Lanzarote, Echedey Eugenio, says that "the only thing we know is that more and more people, including minors, are risking their lives, and the PSOE is only looking the other way."

"It cannot be that boats continue to arrive on our coasts and in Madrid they continue to stand idly by as if it were something normal," he insists.
