Carmen Pellón will be the new Island Director of Education in Lanzarote

The director of the Costa Teguise Institute, Carmen Pellón, will be appointed new island director of Education in Lanzarote replacing the socialist Celeste Callero in the position. According to La Voz, her appointment will probably take place throughout this week when the Governing Council approves it. 

Pellón has a degree in Philosophy and Educational Sciences from the University of Oviedo, a degree in Psychology, specializing in social, from the Complutense University of Madrid and a trainer in Sex Education from the University of Alcalá de Henares. She is currently the director of the Costa Teguise Institute.

In the field of politics, she was linked to Ciudadanos, a formation in which she was coordinator of the group in Teguise and was a candidate for this party for the Senate in the November 2015 elections, but in 2020 she left the orange formation.
