The Cabildo of Lanzarote and the Teguise City Council have reached an agreement for the elaboration of the Special Protection Plan for the Historic Center of the municipality. A project that will be undertaken jointly between both administrations. This is the main agreement reached this morning in the Historical Heritage commission.
First, the limits of this historical complex "which practically covers the entire town" were defined, commented the Councilor for Territorial Policy Carlos Espino. In addition, the head of this area highlighted that it is planned to open an information office so that residents can consult their doubts. On the other hand, Carlos Espino considers that this delimitation of the protected space will mean improvements for the inhabitants of the town.
Another agreement
Finally, this meeting addressed the updating of pending files of individuals, "thus fulfilling the commitment acquired that the average execution time of these documents does not exceed two months", says Espino. This issue will be discussed again in a future session that will take place in the first half of January 2006.
