Begoña Hernández Nóbrega has been designated as the PSOE candidate for mayor of Tinajo in the assembly held on the night of last Monday, March 27. According to Begoña Hernández, “Tinajo needs a change in the town hall, since the project of the current municipal government of the Canarian Coalition is exhausted and without ideas.”
The socialist candidate for mayor of Tinajo assures that she has “the absolute certainty that on May 28 the municipality of Tinajo will put an end to the long political cycle led by the mayor Jesús Machín 20 years ago”. To this end, Begoña Hernández pledged to make the utmost effort together with her team “so that the PSOE's progressive project for the municipality reaches every corner and every person.”
Support for Mª Dolores Corujo and Ángel Víctor Torres
Likewise, Begoña Hernández affirms that both she and her team “will do everything in our power to ensure that María Dolores Corujo is re-elected president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and Ángel Víctor Torres repeats as president of the Canary Islands, so that they can complete their progress projects that were interrupted by the pandemic.”

The municipality with the highest quality of life on the island
“Tinajo does not need to resemble any other municipality on the island, but only needs to be itself and its strong point is its rural character, which must be preserved and reinforced”, says Begoña Hernández. The candidate for mayor emphasizes that Tinajo's future options “involve becoming the municipality with the highest quality of life on the island, staying away from the problems of tourist overcrowding.”
“We are committed to Tinajo becoming the island's benchmark municipality in the development of ecological agriculture, conservation of the agricultural landscape, careful management of protected natural spaces and biodiversity, development of alternative energies and tourism development in three areas with great spending capacity: sports tourism, rural tourism and natural tourism”, concludes Begoña Hernández.
