The Spanish Association of Civil Guards (AEGC) publicly denounces Aena's "absolute lack of interest" in the conditions under which Civil Guard agents stationed at César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport carry out their work.
The official facilities occupied by the Civil Guards present "serious deficiencies," among which the deficient ventilation and the absence of an adequate air conditioning system stand out, forcing agents to endure temperatures incompatible with dignified working conditions and with labor risk prevention regulations.
From AEGC they consider it "intolerable" that a public company that manages one of Spain's main tourist airports "maintains in these conditions those who daily guarantee the safety of millions of passengers, while significant resources are invested in improving the image and services for travelers, the Civil Guard facilities remain forgotten."
This situation "not only constitutes a lack of respect for the professionals of the Corps, but also can affect their health, well-being, and performance, impacting an essential service for airport security."
AEGC demands that Aena "stop ignoring this reality and urgently adopt the necessary measures to equip the Civil Guard facilities with an effective air conditioning and ventilation system, guaranteeing dignified and safe working conditions."
The Spanish Association of Civil Guards warns that it "will continue to publicly denounce this situation and will use all institutional and legal channels at its disposal until Aena assumes its responsibility and puts an end to an abandonment that is improper for a first-class airport infrastructure."
