The Insular Directorate of the General Administration of the State in Lanzarote has welcomed the 17 new National Police officers who are joining the Local Police Station of Arrecife, in an institutional ceremony presided over by the insular director, along with the island's police chiefs.

Of the officers incorporated, a part comes from the new promotion for entry into the National Police, while the rest are identified through the General Merit Competition. These incorporations represent a significant reinforcement of the staff and will allow for an improvement in the force's response capacity, strengthening crime prevention, and continuing to provide a service of proximity, effectiveness, and quality to the citizens of Lanzarote.

During his speech, the insular director highlighted that "security constitutes one of the fundamental pillars of the Rule of Law and these new incorporations reflect the commitment of the Government of Spain to strengthening essential public services and reinforcing the human resources of the State Security Forces and Corps." He also expressed his recognition to the new officers for having successfully completed their training and selection process, wishing them a professional career marked by a vocation for service, closeness to citizens, and respect for the constitutional values that inspire the work of the National Police.

The incorporation of these 17 officers will allow for the consolidation of the operational capacity of the Arrecife Police Station and for facing with greater guarantees the challenges posed by an island with a growing population and a high tourist influx for a large part of the year.

In this regard, the Insular Directorate "reaffirms its commitment to continue working, in coordination with the National Police, the Civil Guard, and other public administrations, to continue strengthening citizen security and offering an effective response to the needs of the population of Lanzarote."
