The Arrecife City Council, through the Department of Social Welfare, has financed the design of the website contuayuda.org. The project, promoted by the Derecho y Justicia association, aims to be "a channel for intermediation and job placement that benefits groups at risk of social exclusion."

The digital platform, presented at a press conference, has also been enabled to make donations that will be used for cases of social emergency following international scales that prioritize basic needs, as noted by Tharais Armas, project coordinator.

José Luis Ascencio, technician of the NGO, has defined the web portal as "the first stone of a social building, which will go beyond charity as it will establish links of collaboration and solidarity."

"It will make us more effective"

The Arrecife City Council has allocated more than 31,000 euros for the creation of the social action tool that is already operational. The Cabildo de Lanzarote and La Caixa have also collaborated with Derecho y Justicia for the launch of this initiative.

The Councilor for Social Welfare of Arrecife, Eva de Anta, has stated that the aid will always be supervised by technicians of the Public Administration, who will monitor the cases.  "It is an interesting and rigorous proposal in which the work we do from the Council, in collaboration with the Derecho y Justicia association, will make us more effective and arrive in time to provide solutions to cases of extreme need," explains the mayor.

In addition, the Consistory specifies that the page "will scrupulously respect the identity of the people who, through the tool, request help."
