The Arrecife City Council, presided over by Mayor Yonathan de León Machín, has carried out this summer, through the Department of Education and Culture led by Abigail González, a set-up of the municipality's schools in preparation for the start of the next school year scheduled for Monday, September 11.

The Department of Education and Culture of the Arrecife City Council has carried out this summer a set-up of the municipal schools for the start of the school year, which is scheduled for Monday, September 11.

The works, carried out by the area led by Abigail González, have basically consisted of painting the classrooms, common areas, facades and exterior enclosures, as well as waterproofing roofs and updating interior lighting, as could be appreciated by both Mayor Yonathan de León and the councilor in the recent visit made to check the improvement tasks that have been carried out in the municipality's schools.

In this context, Yonathan de León recalls "the important investment made by the City Council since the previous term in the renovation and maintenance of the educational centers of Arrecife, which in some cases had a very deteriorated appearance, with windows and furniture more than 50 years old, but thanks to that economic effort today they already have a much improved appearance, where teachers and students can directly see these maintenance works."

For her part, Abigail González highlights "the importance of carrying out these improvement tasks in the educational centers before the start of the new school year, because it has been shown that having a renovated and well-maintained educational infrastructure favors and stimulates the academic performance of students, which is important for the future of Arrecife."

The capital City Council has carried out these improvement tasks in the Infant and Primary Education Centers (CEIP) of the municipality - which are Adolfo Topham, Antonio Zerolo, Argana Alta, Benito Méndez Tarajano, Capellanía del Yágabo, La Destila, Los Geranios, Mercedes Medina Díaz, Nieves Toledo and Titerroy-, in the Argana Compulsory Education Center (CEO), as well as in the Titerroygatra Public Adult Education Center (CEPA). The maintenance of the Secondary Education Institutes corresponds to the Department of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands.
